What is an Episode?

Dictionary definitions of episode abound, but the nearest lay definition that fits a bipolar episode is "an incident or event that is part of a larger sequence." The larger sequence, of course, is the ongoing flow between the highs and lows of manic depression.

What is an Episode??

i dont mind manic episodes, although my judgement aint worth nothing during them, depressing episodes, those me not like at all

Unfortunatly being manic is worse for us than being depressed....our judgement pretty much all goes right out the window!!

yeah when i am manic i do and say things i later regret. Then when i am depressed everyone too suffers around me cause i am very hard to live with. So far only a few minor depressions these last couple of months and some semi manic ones but nothing too extreme in either direction. last hallucination was in arpil i think which left me odd feeling for almost the whole day. that was a bad one- kind of like a bad acid trip without the drug. haha.

I'm glad that you're more stable now Kat. I'm seeing a psych next week and waiting to go over my blood work. So I may be joining you guys

I had 2 manic and 3 depression in the last 3 months; because of the hep thing, it sent me over the edge and I couldn't keep an even keel. But the doc added the lithium to the cocktail and now I am quite stable - as long as I take it. I thought I was ok for a while and stopped and what a mistake that was, that won't happen again! But I usually buy clothes, I have about 10 things in the closet I ran across last week with tags on them that I don't remember buying...or where I bought them. No wonder my overdraft protection is worn out...Oh what fun this can be at times
