Spinning out of synch with the world
People wordlessly scream with contorted faces
Disturbing apparition that might be angelic,
A sweet nurse of comfort with unlikely shoes
Sternly says, “He needs his medication!”
This sick button inside me pushed by this disease,
Why can’t is be turned off?
Nauseating greasy smell of disinfectant
Or is it aftershave? Bug repellant?
Too much, I close my eyes and blow
Each breath a moan, trying to resonate
That sound of one -- ringing sacred bowl
A holy chant that vibrates deeper
Beyond the visible realm –
Molecularly traveling patterns of perfect tessellation
Beauty, order -- mathematically perfect
Encoded within life, within matter
This music of light – breathe in color
Exhale pain, inhale God
These pangs, what will they birth?
Holy moans that rise like incense
Burning away impurities passing understanding,
Dissolving in the sound of another breath
Vibrating within all life unity and resonance
My chant a moan of death,
But yet a strong cry of life! | |
