Trudging through an endless wilderness of ice
Every extra calorie burned in the fight to keep warm
Consuming my flesh my every thought,
This cold cloud in my soul
Weary tracks lay as history in the snow
Turning I am horrified to see
I’ve been dragging one foot dead
Funny, I have stopped shivering, jerking and twitching
I just need to rest here, close my eyes
Deliriously sleeping in some warm fantasy
I awake suddenly!
But it is not the cold outside of me
That has been stabbing with wicked barbs
But this disease inside of me!
When can I come in from the cold? | |
