Where's all my bp'ers at.....How have you all been doing??


Me....I'm in a pretty good place right now....moods have been pretty even. I'm starting something new in December.....any of you ever heard of mood charting?? I'm going to give it a shot....I've got two different charts I am going to try out and see which one I like better!! Look forward to hearing how you're all doing

I'm glad we all met, I have learned so much from both of you two! I am cylcing pretty bad now...the doc can't seem to find anything to stablilze me because of my seizures....and with the addition of Jack in my life and the fibro, and no pain meds now and my neuro dropping my insurance,,, alot of stuff is going on. I am trying to be normal,, well as normal as I can be LOL. Bue I find myself crying then manic on the same day, several times over and over, etc, and I am getting confused about things, the fibro fog I think... I am afraid that the new doc is say I am having phychotic episodes like my GP is saying because of the things I am seeing and hearing and then end up in a hospital somewhere or something....My best friend says I over think everything to death? I am still waiting for the specialist to call me for the appointment for a new pdoc. Taking his sweet time Otherwise, seems if I stay around my brother or Jack, I am stable, if not I am bouncing off the walls, any suggestions??

I have only one good leg anymore Ed I know how you feel...Check your carb adjustment...I seem to remember something about that from the old days

I'm here and so stable...thank God...for the past 2 1/2 years. I have such a great doc and am on a good mix of meds...Topamax, Seroquel, Cymbalta, and Trazadone. The doses haven't had to be changed in over 2 years. I get occaisional small ripples, but never any big waves. Anything unusual is situational and not chemical. It's a great feeling.

Yeah, the more I read about bp and compare notes with my bro in law, and really LOOK at my past... the clearer it seems to me that I am prolly bp. When I was a kid I wrote it off on "family drama". I thought everyone felt like a loser and wanted to check out at times. Then after my accident, I just attributed it to having died at age 19... coming back to a life so radically different it was truly as if I HAD died and came back in ANOTHER EXISTENCE! A lot to overcome, for sure.
I find winter to be a hard time, but this is my first winter with anti-depressants. I've still had meltdowns and still gone bonkers with uncontrollable energy (not really energy, more like compulsion to "DO" -- I cannot sit still). BUT, I do not STAY down and am usually able to pull away from the hyper -- IF I have not had more than my one -- two cups of go-juice/
I am starting to build a support system right here and have made some ground, both personally and interpersonally. Looking at it and seeing it and talking about it have been revolutionary.

You're doing the right thing by talking to us. I don't know if you are BP or not. But if you are, we're here for you It's not a fun disease at times

Yay Ed!!! I see the Med and Mood specialist tomorrow Finally! Took three months to get the appointment! I really hope the doc can do something for me; I am so tired of the ups and downs and crying for no reason! And I am doing my taxes this weekend! more money!!! I am putting a fence up at the new house for Jacks dogs!

One of the biggest things I've learned with BP is there is nothing to be ashamed about. It's no different than being diabetic. We cannot help the chemical changes in our brains. I'm very open with people and share quite often the fact that I'm BP, but that's my choice, others have their own ways of dealing and sharing. My idea behind my sharing is to help end the stigma of mental illness. I'm fortunate that I no longer have many major lows, but those that I do have, I concentrate on the good things in my life which I call my "stick up lights". That way, even when I'm in my darkest well, things aren't quite as dark and I keep telling myself, "THIS TOO SHALL PASS". The best thing to do is have a great support system in place (this is one of the best), have a good relationship with your psychiatrist, and be very proactive with your mental health. Get to know your triggers for your ups and downs. My "up" triggers are anything new...new friends...new situations. I know that this will make me very up and I will tend to overdo and get very excited. Knowing this..I can be aware and guard myself against certain behaviors. My "down" triggers are things like a negative diagnosis from a doc, so I know that I will feel angry and down for a couple of days, but it won't last, so I just deal with it and move on. If I feel like I'm sinking into a pit for no apparent reason and not able to get past it, I immediately call my psych doc, and request to go into a facility where I can get away from life for a few days and get my head together. This combination as well as a great mix of the right meds has kept me on track for over 2 years. I have also come to realize I AM WORTHY!!!!..no matter what any other person may think of me. You're on the right track. I would love to be anyone's point of light....I'm here for you....
