| Throughout the centuries, poets have described a sense of sadness, loss and lethargy which can accompany the shortening days of fall and winter.

| Great article...sooo describes me! As soon as the days start getting shorter I start getting miserable. All I want to do is eat and sleep. And at the first sign of spring I am sooo hyper I drive myself crazy! I started on paxil yesterday, so in another week or two I should be back to my cheerful sunny self. Can't wait, because I can't stand being like I am now.

| I know Kira but at least it gets light earlier. Now it's not light until almost 7AM. I tend to oversleep when that happens | |

| Today was a rough day. It's been rainy, cloudy and just blah all day. I had to force myself to go for groceries, then went back to bed for 3 hours til the girls got home from school. I can't stand being like this. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm...plan on spending the whole day outside getting the yard ready for winter. I hope the paxil starts working soon. | |

| Thanks for your support everyone. Today the sun is shining and I feel so alive and energetic! It's just amazing how much the weather is affecting me. Yesterday I could barely function with all the clouds and rain. Today, I feel like I have energy to spare. During the spring and summer when it rains, I just use those days for doing the housework that gets let go on sunny days. The rainy days don't send me into a tailspin so to speak during the spring and summer. But since the days started getting shorter a cloudy day just leaves me feeling ...I don't know how to explain it. It feels like my body is too heavy to move, I don't have enough energy to do much more than get the girls off to school in the morning. Then I have to sleep to get enough energy to take care of the girls from after school til bed, and even that is a struggle. It's an awful feeling. And the difference between yesterday and today is almost scary. I'm off to run some errands for my Mom, then to play outside. Have a great day everyone! | |

| Well, the sun only lasted for a few hours (gonna tar and feather the weather man!!!) but I didn't crawl into bed when it got cloudy and rainy. I got some phone calls made, and curled up with a book for a while. I came close to going back to bed, but forced myself to stay away from the bedroom. I'm still feeling really blah, but making it through the day. | |

| I have a bit more energy today, and I'm not feeling quite as blah as yesterday. I have a lot to keep me busy today, and the girls will keep me from heading off to bed for the day. I apologize for making this forum my daily journal for getting through SAD, but it does help to talk about it. Thanks for listening! | |

| Thanks Lost One. Today was a little better. The girls and I made it to church this morning, and I managed to stay away from the bedroom all day. Tomorrow I have to take a family friend for x-rays and to get her groceries first thing in the morning so that should keep me busy for a few hours. Then I am going to try to get a few chores done before the girls get home from school. | |
