A Young Dream

When i was young
I had a dream,
It was to be
On the Phillies team.
As time grew old
I new i never would,
So i took a different approach
And followed every game i could.
A dedicated and die hard
Fan i became,
So at least I was close
And inside the game.
There was no way
That i could have followed that dream,
But by becoming a die hard fan
I feel that I'm part of their team.

It's a sad fact of life that we all had dreams, we all had hopes. Now we have to hold on to those memories.

yes we do, for me I only have a few left, the accident took a lot of them, people try to tell me things and i have some pictures, but a lot, I just don't have a clue

I had pull off the the side of the road because my car trunk had popped open, I was on my way home from the grocery store, It was after 10:00 pm and I lived in the rural part of Phx. I was getting out of my car and another car came over the hill and hit the rear end of my car and slammed the car door on my head. The impact knocked me back into the car and I was out for about 20 minutes....I drove home, brought my groceries in and asked my son to not let me sleep. I have little memory of the next 3 years and only pieces of memory of memory of the 15 - 20 years prior to that.

Sounds like you might have had a concussion, or TBI. Have you had any treatment for it, or is there any treatment?

Yes, after a year of the neurologist who said I was faking an injury and a really dumb other doctor who kept changing meds every other week...I tried to kill my self; then I found out about the governor's office's dept. for head injuries and had extensive testing and found out I had had a TBI. I was then put into Voc Rehab, had a neuro-physiologist, cognitive therapist, a pdoc, but they said it was to late for the motor skills I lost to be rehabed. I was in therapy for 3 years. then I bartended for 2 years until I found a job in the property management field; and here I am now Not perfect, but better than I was when I went into them
