Aachen, Germany - Bipolar disorder, which is also known as manic depression, often goes unrecognized by the patient, friends and even doctors. Sufferers go through phases of what may be hypomania - a state in which the person shows a high level of energy, excessive moodiness or irritability, impulsive or reckless behaviour.

When I first went in for testing they thought I did drugs. I told them I never did that. I do like being hypo, but hate it when I'm manic, if that makes sense. I feel more energetic and have a lot of confidence. Sometimes I wish I could always be hypo redface
