Thursday, Sep 11 (Psych Central) -- womanInvestigators have discovered that suffering a traumatic injury can have serious and long-lasting implications for a patient’s mental health.

The study is the largest-ever U.S. effort for evaluating the impact of traumatic injury.

I know that I still have issues in a car under certain conditions since my accident....and the nightmares... but some of those are from other things.....

I have serious problems with driving after my accident. Takes me hours to talk myself into driving, then I flinch every time a car goes by me, I have panic attacks and have to pull over, I obsess over what route I'll be taking, and when I drive by the intersection where we were hit I slow right down and get shaky. I never did any of that before the accident - I used to drive anywhere, any time without even thinking about it.

It is amazing what an accident will do to us

I simply asked the neurolphsycoloigist that in my estimation that 65% of the population was legally medicated on some kind of mood altering drug from their doctor; 25% of the population was self medicating with alochol, over the counter meds, pot, etc, and 6% were hard core addicts who do anything to be buzzed. That only leaves 4% of the population that is NOT MEDICATED! Now I would like to know what is wrong with this equation and why 4% of the population is making the rest of us NUTS and making all of the decisions!! And also, which percent do you fall in? He wasn't very amused!! But he agreed with me and said he could no longer help me since I had obviously achieved such a higher level of thinking!

Basiclly what I asked was "If 96% of the population was medicated, why? Why shouldn't the 4% be mediecated? And why was the 4% making the major decisions, policy and, which percentage was my doctor in??
