| Anyone watching the Olympics? I've been clued to the TV every night when I come home I found this about Michael Phelps - the swimmer. Michael Phelps "According to the NY Post, the Olympic swimming sensation eats... 12,000 calories per day. Here's what a days food intake looks like: ...three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes. At lunch, Phelps gobbles up a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread - capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks. For dinner, Phelps really loads up on the carbs - what he needs to give him plenty of energy for his five-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week regimen - with a pound of pasta and an entire pizza. Apparently he "washes all that down with another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks". Now here's my question: WHY IS THS MAN NOT DEAD?? or diabetic?? or having heart attacks?? I don't care if he swims the English Channel.... 12,000 calories A DAY!!! Good Lord!!! I couldn't do this on a bet. | |

| Whoaa, that's alot. That's interesting, thanks for sharing. I have been watching the swimming and volleyball events mostly :)
Here is what I had for breakfast and this is what I plan for the rest of the day:
A bowl of maple oatmeal with a banana in it and wheat germ on top An english muffin with a little butter and fig preserves
Lunch: A bacon and avocado sandwich with tortilla chips and home made picante
Supper: Probably some fresh veggies and fried tofu or maybe with some fish
I quit eating red meat awhile back :)
You would think I would be skinnier eating this kind of food but somehow a candy bar or ice cream slips into the menu as well and then sometimes I don't eat as healthy as this because I like fried stuff once in awhile :) Then there is fall weather where I cook alot :)
I like to make smoothies too and they mostly consist of:
1 banana three tablespoons of yogurt three tablespoons of frozen strawberries 1 tablespoon ground flax seed 1 tablespoon wheat germ a little milk some juice some ice cubes
Even though I try to eat right, I still suffer from chronic pain and other things but I try :) | |

| You do eat good Delta, I'm proud of you. I heard that Phelps eats 12,000 calories a day. I'm struggling to stay under 1200 | |

| Me too Delta. Even though I cut grass and do work out, I still put it on. Maybe too many I'm watching basketball right now and I'm into watching the track and field. | |

| I love the women's volleyball. Did you see the other night where May-Treanor had a big scare? Then they blew the Belgiums away in the second set | |

| I've been following the swimming too, what a swimmer he is! He eats more in a day than I do in a month! But, he also does more in a day than I do in a month Hope we keep doing well! | |
